First Opinions Panel contests

May 14, 2008 By: Honto Category: Research 1 Comment →

First Opinions Panel comes with another two contests for the second life residents. The prizes are L$1.000 for the first one and L$100.000 per month for the second one. Yes you read it right that’s 100k linden dollars per month, around $350 and this is real american dollars.

The first contest it’s about TOP TEN PLACES IN SECOND LIFE
- Get the link of the contest by signing up with FOP
- Give suggestions for the top 10 places in SL
- Awards = L$1000 to ten panelists!

The second one it’s a bit more complex. The initiator is USC Network Culture Project and it’s about new ways that can be used to make a contribution to the public good in SL. How Second Life can enhance, develop, or sustain the public good. The best submissions will be selected based on how well they demonstrate the significance of virtual worlds for making an impact on society or culture.

The finalists will be provided with a $L100,000 per month building stipend (and land, if required) for three months to execute their proposal.

First Opinions Panel comes with this kind of contests on a regular basis, so there is no loss in joining them.

I’m sorry for being a little late, I had something to do.

Wow guys, looks like you really don’t want those free linden dollars. Only one user was able to post a comment here. My god, I wouldn’t thought you are so lazy, people.

But I still don’t lose hope, maybe in the next contests you will come and participate in a larger number than 1 (one).

Still, a promise is a promise and a contest is a contest so…

The winner is:

Violetta McLaglen

She got L$500 just for a post. Now that’s easy money.

Building in Second Life

May 12, 2008 By: Honto Category: Build 2 Comments →

grandpa clock Hey guys. I just went on a limb today and built a clock. It’s an old granpa’ clock with textures made in Paint Shop Pro. The clock shows Second Life time, as you can see from the photo it was around 2 o’clock in-world at the time it was taken. It’s also the day when a new brand starts it’s second life. The brand is “Uni-Q” and it will be applyed to clocks for example. Just hoping that my builder/coder skills will improve over time.

Still the idea of the clock I took it over a website, slBuilding.com which I think it’s very useful for beginners in building Second Life stuff. Of course there are just the guidelines, the rest of it depends on your own imagination and skills.

I would like you to state your oppinion about my granpa’ clock. Maybe even give me a price I could get for it in 2nd life.

Happy lindening!

First contest L$500

May 12, 2008 By: Honto Category: Contest 1 Comment →

So you found out about iHonto - free linden dollars information center, but you don’t really know how to start your free linden journey?

Here’s a good start, I think. One of the first readers posting a comment, will be receiving from me, Honto Yoshikawa, L$500 in Second Life. I think this would be the easiest free lindens you’ll ever make, don’t you? The important thing is to give your SL username so I will know who to pay in Second Life. The contest will end tomorrow at 8 pm GMT. A randomizer will be used to pick the winner (www.random.org).

You don’t have a Second Life account? You can get it here, FOR FREE.

And most importantly, don’t forget to spread the word that there’s a new site in town dealing with free lindens.
